Action Items

  1. BPT members to go to liaisons on what kinds of aesthetically pleasing projects - inside and out - that they would like to see. Members to send items to Mike, BPT to prioritize and Mike will pass on to Nelson Drake.

  2. School vote on BPT plan - Marie and Dawn created ballots. Vote = Wednesday October 16 - Friday October 18.

  3. April to talk to 3rd grade teammates that 3rd graders go directly from the bus, to the breakfast line - April to bring back results to BPT

Discussions

  1. Culturally responsive training on Superintendent's Conference Day and the survey that SCSD sent out. The group agreed that the training was not long enough and did not address all aspects of equity.

  2. Urban Suburban - how to get them involved in before/after school activities when parents have to provide transportation from the city.

  3. Breakfast - kindergarten and first grades are waiting to send students so that 3rd grade (first specials) has a chance to get in line first - also third grade can also go after specials. April shared that she hasn't heard any students say that the line is too long the last week or so.

  4. Cluster dates - Steve proposed cluster days with shortened specials by 10 minutes on cluster days.

  1. Specials Times:

    • Grade 3: 9:05 - 9:50

    • Grade 4: 9:54 - 10:39

    • Grade 5: 10:43 - 11:28

    • LUNCH for special area teachers 11:28 - 12:00

    • Grade 1: 12:02 - 12:47

    • Grade K: 12:51 - 1:36

    • Grade 2: 1:40 - 2:25

  2. Cluster Dates, Cluster Time 2:35-3:20 (start calling 5th graders at 2:27)

    • Friday January 24 - A Day

    • Friday January 31 - A Day (must move SOAR Assembly)

    • Friday February 7 - A Day

    • Wednesday February 26 - D Day

    • Wednesday March 4 - D Day

    • Wednesday March 11 - D Day

  3. 6 clusters = total of 60 minutes lost planning time

  4. January 9 Faculty Meeting Cancelled to accommodate reduced planning time due to shortened specials on the 6 cluster dates

  5. Must do on A or D days due to traveling teachers would affect reading and math RtI

  6. CONCERN - space for all of the clusters!
  7. Staff that do not normally get a sub, if they are off on a cluster date and run a cluster, then they must put in for a sub
