District Comprehensive Improvement Plan
District Comprehensive Improvement Plan
In March of 2024, Munn Elementary School was identified by the New York State as a Potential School for Targeted Support and Improvement. This designation was a result of the accountability status of student subgroups in the 2022-2023 school year. In short, students in these subgroups who took the New York State assessments in Math and ELA did not reach state benchmarks. As a result of this designation, and a similar designation at Cosgrove Middle School in 2019-2020, Spencerport School District was identified as a District in Need of Targeted Support and Improvement. This is a process that school districts are faced with under the ESSA regulations, and it involves the creation of a needs assessment, locally developed plan to address the academic needs of Munn’s students. The district will receive funding for this work, yet it will require instructional shifts at Munn.
